Can the work happen while we are not at the cottage?
Yes, and it often does. Alexander measures and quotes on a visit you are there for, or by arrangement, then works to the fixed written price while you are away and sends photos as it goes. Because the quote is fixed before anything starts, nothing about the price changes while you cannot see the job.
Should I put hardwood in a cottage that is unheated all winter?
Sometimes yes and sometimes no, and anyone who answers that without seeing the building is guessing. It depends on whether the place is heated at all over winter, how damp it gets, and what is under the floor. Waterproof vinyl plank handles a hard seasonal swing without complaint; hardwood can work well in a cottage that stays above freezing, if it is acclimated and fitted with the movement in mind. Alexander will give you a straight recommendation at the quote, including when the cheaper material is the right one.
Do you serve Lindsay as well as the lakes?
Yes. The Coboconk office covers Coboconk, Lindsay and cottage properties across the Kawartha Lakes. Waterloo Region is served from the Kitchener office, so a job at either end gets someone based nearby rather than a three-hour drive.
